Possible to carbonate homemade coke with rum in it?

Basically I want to make the soda, add the rum, keg it then carb it. Is it possible or does the addition of the rum prevent it?

Quite the contrary. IIRC CO2 is even more soluble in alcohol than it is in water though the amount of alcohol once the rum is diluted by the coke probably won't have a big effect.

Just wanted to be the first to say it.

I love the idea of a small batch rum and cola product. Right on, go make some money.

Now you need to make your own rum. After aging reuse the barrels to age some beer. Yumm!

The local brewpub is doing a Wee Heavy aged in barrels from the local distillery (we think local around here a lot) that held rye. Man, is that tasty!
