Ive always wondered if I have to let Star San dry before it comes into contact with my beer, for instance, if i dipped my bottle in the solution before filling it would it have a negative effect or should I let the bottles completely dry?

Don't fear the foam/residue/anything. Immerse your bottle in star san, remove and dump, and immediately fill.

Wow, i've never used Star San, didn't realise it was that easy. Going to have to give it a go.

Star San sanitizes based on acidity, the small amount left will be diluted to above it's active range by the beer you add, and the components are then digestible by your yeast, so no biggie. I generally spray down the pegs on my dishwasher, clean my bottles, star san them, then place them upside down on the pegs to drip out while I fill. Upside down, nothing is going to get into them.

Sanitize your bottles in Star San.

Sanitize your caps in Star San.

Sanitize your keg parts in Star San.

Wet your hands with Star San and assemble everything while wet.

Dump the Star San out of the carboyy and transfer your wort into the foam.

Don't fear the foam --it's that easy.
