Haier Refr.

Sat Nov 06, 2010 9:33 am

I just got a free Haier BC-111SS refr. and have run into a problem. The interior is only tall enough if I can move the ice tray out of the way. This of course is where some of the coolant lines are, so my first thought was to cut the top of the tray off (no coolant lines there) and bend the line that goes from the back into the tray down so the tray would be flush with the back. Has anyone tried this and not break the coolant lines? Here is the interior.

I have answered my own question. I was able to cut the top of the ice tray holder with tin snips, and bend the tube that comes in from the back. I also had to cut out the bottom and center ribs of the door with a dremel tool so I can shut the door.
So now my question is, has anyone put a tap tower thru the top of a Haier?
thanks

my suggestion would be to take a 1/16th drill or some small size and drill with MINIMAL pressure to determine if it hits a line and you can move over.

I tried the suggestion, but most if the top seemed to cool and dry the paste at the same time. So I thru caution to the wind and dug out the dremel. I picked a spot in the center, about 1/4 from the back, and dremeled a 2" circle with the grinding tool to get a paper thin layer of metal remaining, and pried it up. It worked like a charm. So now it get to go to northern brewer to look at towers. And keg for the first time this weekend. Thanks for the help...
