Leak in my CO2 system

Thu Apr 29, 2010 3:32 pm

I've pretty sure I've got a leak in my CO2 system. I'm only getting about 3-4 batches of beer out of a 10# tank of CO2 (including carbonation, dispensing, and racking under pressure). Micromatic says I should have enough CO2 to push 14 kegs... either way it seems a little low.

What's the best way to find where a leak is? Can I submerge the regulator under water and look for bubbles or will that ruin it? Tips appreciated, thanks.

I usually put some starsan in a spray bottle and spray down the connections. It'll foam if there's a leak.
