Small Bottles

Mon Apr 19, 2010 12:58 pm

I have been looking for small brown bottles. I prefer to have 6-8 oz bottles for a barley wine I'm bottling soon. If anyone can give me some guidance I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

They are clear but corona makes (or used to make) pony size bottles, coronitas they were called I believe. I don't drink that swill though! How about little plastic soda bottles? Maybe gingerale bottles (the little glass ones, you would need to use their twisty caps). Miller used to make pony sizes but they are twist off. you might be able to crown cap glass soda bottles. Great size for meads huh?
On Tap: Dark Mild (x2), Honey Hefe
Fermenting: A.Bastard Clone, Wee Heavy, S/70, Eng. Barleywine

yeah I know coke and pepsi come in real small bottles, maybe 6 oz. I would look into using those..If you wanted glass(since its a barley wine and you probably want to age it for a while) I have no idea.

actually here I found these... http://www.breworganic.com/browseproduc ... of-24.html

Look for Flying Dog Canis Major 8-packs (8 oz bottles). 2 each of the Gonzo Porter, Horn Dog, Double Dog and Kerberos Trippel.
May be hard to find now, however (I bought my 8-pk a few months ago - wish I bought more!).

I'm trying to get MoreBeer to carry these http://www.calglass.com/catalog/thumbs?CategoryId=147&CategoryLevel=SubCategory1 but I don't think they'd sell one pallet in five years.

Tasty

Nope, Chad gets all the free equipment to try. I just limp along with all my old stuff. I owe them big time for all the help they gave me years ago when I had no club.

Ah the splits...We used to have Splits parties all the time on the east coast using OV (old vienna) Split cases. I dont know if they still produce that beer but it was like $14 bucks a case which might be cheaper than buying them outright.
