How would I go about transferring carbonated beer from a corney keg to a scotty (3gal.). I'm not sure how to set up the lines. If any one has pictures of there set-up that would be awesome. Prost!

1) Start by taking one of your beer lines and put BEER OUT (black) connectors on both ends of it.

2) Then, sanitize the lines and the Scotty (I assume the Corny is already sanitized).

3) Next, purge all the Air out of the Scotty by filling with C02 and releasing the valve.
Do this for several iterations to remove all the air.

4) Then, pressurize the empty Scotty to your "normal" pressure. (This is gonna act a lot like counter pressure filling).

5) Next, hook the Beer out Scotty (black) =====> (black) Beer out Corny
6) Hook the CO2 tank =========> gas in corny (gray)
Gas out on Scotty gets nothing.

7) Then, slowly bleed the gas out of the Scotty by releasing the pressure from the Scotty's bleeder valve (or by pushing on the gas in poppet if there is no bleeder valve). The beer will flow out of the corny and fill the scotty. Proceed until it's as full as you want it to be.

Yes, a little will come out when it's full, but you might be able to prevent that with a little planning.

Weigh your empty scotty. Water weighs 8.34 lbs per gallon. 2 gallons weighs 16.68 lbs. 3 is a little over 25 lbs. If you put about 20.5 lbs of beer in there, you'll be just under 2.5 gallons.

I put a picnic tap on the "IN" port on the Scotty, and use that to draw the beer into keg. Less mess if you fill it too full. If you do this cold and live where its humid you can observe the beer level in the Scotty by the condensation on the outside of the Scotty.

I used that method last time as well and it worked great. Keeps the pressure equalized and doesn't introduce any oxygen provided you purge your keg before hand. I fill my recipient corny with sanitizer and push it out with co2 to purge.
