Where is the cheapest place to get German flip top growlers? I'm looking for somewhere other than home brew shops most of them will only ship at your risk.

Once upon a time Koch Measurement Devices would sell them by the case (10 growlers in a case). Don't know if they still do.
customerservice@koch-usa.com should get that answer pretty quickly.

Is there a brew pub near by that sells them filled? When I was in Ft Wayne IN I went to Brew City brew pub and bought one of those handsome metal handle growlers for $25, filled with their IPA. Next time your on vacation check out brewpubs and see if you can find a place like that.

Granite City has some really nice half gallon growlers with a metal handle and everything. Their beer is pretty unremarkable, but the growlers are great. Here is the type they have:

That is it! It was Granite City. There beers pretty unremarkable, like Wayne said. They don't brew on site but only ferment. They supposedly truck in the wort. Their growlers are a deal. Especially since most brewshops sell these for $25+.
I bought a Russian River growler when I was there for $27, filled with Pliny. It was a good looking glass number.
