pvc hoses from Lowes

Does anyone know if the clear lines Lowes sells is beer worthy?

Most of thier pvc hoses say "not for ice makers". Does that mean it is not food grade?

It depends on what you want to use it for

Its not rated at temps above a certain amount so in the brewing system is a no go

Its not made like beer line and will cause a ton of CO2 to come out of solution in your keggerator

so again, that's a no go

As cheap as buying tubing is from a reputable supplier like Northern Brewer is, I wouldn't recommend ever using poly tube from Lowe's in the brew house

The one exception that I can see is in building a wort chiller

I use the Big Box clear hose for everything except serving. That includes racking, Co2 delivery, blow off tubes, and transfering wort in the brewery. I use beer beverage line to do my dispensing with. I live a mile from 2 big boxes so it's very convienient.

Sorry I was not clear in my post. My questions was are these ok to us on the serving side. I was lookig at thier 3/16" lines.
