Painting bottle caps

Tue Sep 01, 2009 6:18 pm

I recently decided i want to start labeling my beer so that i can more easily distinguish between the different batches. I really want to have my own custom bottle caps. But rather than pay to order custom ones, would there be a way for me to paint them? I was thinking of making a stencil and trying to paint on a design. I figure that if the paint stayed on remotely well, this would make reusing the bottles easier, as well as make my homebrew more aesthetically appealing. Has anyone else tried this?

Welcome to the site-

Sure, you can paint them, but be aware that if you want to submit your beers to any BJCP sanctioned competitions, they should not have any special identifying marks on the bottles or caps.
