As some of you may have seen here I've finally acquired some kegs.

I've been look all day so far for an exploded keg diagram so I can get to buying some parts for my new kegs.

What I know about them so far is that 2 of them are, for sure (brah!), Cornelius brand pin lock kegs. One of the ones stamped "Cornelius" is the 22" tall, 9" diameter 5-gallon ones that most pin lock kegs are, the other Cornelius brand keg is the 2.5 gallon one.

The other 2 5-gallon kegs are both the 22" tall, 9" diameter ones, but they are not marked "Cornelius." I'm going to take a closer look when I get home today and see if I can figure out what brand they are. In looking on this page for cleaning ball lock kegs, I think the other 2 kegs I have may be Alloy Products kegs.

My main, first goal, is, if possible, convert them to ball lock kegs so I'll be matched up with everyone else in my club. Bugeater posted this link in another thread I created that shows that the 2 Cornelius brand kegs I have can be converted to ball lock kegs by simply replacing the posts.

If I can't find a definitive brand name on the other 2 kegs I can always remove the posts from the cornelius brand kegs I have and see if they'll thread into the unbranded ones. If they do, then all 4 can be switched over to ball lock kegs.

So, I see morebeer sells a pin lock socket that I can use to remove the posts. In researching it looks like I can also use an open ended wrench too? If that's the case, I may just go for it with the wrenches I have.

In any event, I'd like to get to replacing the parts I need to on these. I'm going to buy a gasket set for each one, new poppets for each one and will use the dip tubes I have assuming they're good.

so, does anyone know of an exploded diagram of a pin lock keg or are there writeups out there that I can follow?

all right, so no one cares.

The other 2 kegs I have are Alloy Products Corp kegs. I've spent the afternoon searching the web and haven't found shit about them so I just ordered a Pin Lock socket and will manually take the posts out of the Alloy Products kegs and see if they fit into the Cornelius brand kegs.

So, having never used these kegs before, and I think they've been sitting pressurized since they left the soda company, what should I replace? Just get a gasket set and go at it or should I replace the poppets too?

Sell them on eBay and get yourself some ball lock ones. I doubt the conversion is worth the hassle.

Or use 1/4 inch flares on your lines and get a set of each of the connector styles ball and pin and just change them on the lines as needed.

That's what I'm going to do. Use the flare nuts so converting back and forth isnt a big deal.

and, I would imagine it's going to take me a while to get past 3 1/2 kegs and need more.
