When keg carbonating beer, do you attach the co2 to the out or the in valve? I know out for serving but I didn't know if the gas needed to bubble up thru the beer.

Thanks

to carbonate, put the co2 on the out side to let it bubble through the beer. if you set your regulator at the proper psi with respect to the temperature the keg is at, it may take a week. you could speed it up by shaking the keg and turning up the psi up to 30 or so for a few minutes. the colder the keg is, the easier the co2 will permeate into the beer.

Thanks, that explains why even after turning up the pressure I still had flatish beer last night, not to mention it has only been a few days

Thanks for the input, I'll switch it when I get home

+1. I put the gas on the in post and let it sit for two weeks at 10-12 PSI. Carbed perfectly every time.

+1 The IN side might be a good idea. The quick disconects IN and out are different sizes. It could get stuck and be difficult to get off if you put it on the wrong post.

thats why you connect the black ball lock to the co2 tube....guess it works either way. its just a matter of when do you want to drink your beer

It won't carb any faster going in the out or out the in unless you are shaking it. It takes a week or there abouts either way.
