Found a year old homebrew under the sink

Tue Jun 09, 2009 1:29 am

I was really surprised to find this but I did remember putting it there - I had just forgotten all about it

Somebody on another forum suggested that I make a vid of me opening to the bottle and tasting it

I think the results of this show that my sanitization practices are good enough

this batch was made using Star San - I've recently been using one step and have been getting some mixed results

This bottle is the last nail in the coffin of one step - I'm going back to star san

One Step is technically a cleanser and not actually a sanitizer. FYI.
Pri: Community Nudity Ale, Magician Red Ale, Berliner Weisse
Bottled: Paxton's Tripel and Dubbel, 400 Rabbits Ale, Cap'n Crunch Amber Oat Ale

"Pretty f-ing good, actually"... haha, made me laugh.
I bet you were preparing for the vomit just in case.

Nothing better than year old homebrew, kept warm by the dishwasher, served in a dirty glass. Nice work, soldier!

Seriously dirty glass!! Did you even clean it?

Anytime the bubbles stick to the glass like you showed indicates that the glass is not clean. Check into what Ray Daniels talks about in terms of how you know a glass is clean or not.

Could it be the Jet Dry in my dishwasher??

I think that is part of my head retention problem.

Really, this glass was washed in the dishwasher and then I rinsed it out in the sink to boot

I want input on this!! Every little think helps - I even bought some plastic cups like tasty to serve my brew in because I was paranoid about what my dishwasher was doing to them

Yeah, I was ready for club soda - I always thought that I had a wild yeast problem but this proves that I can make at least one good batch
