At some point I need to bottle a kegged Barley wine for long term aging. I'd really like to bottle this in something other than a drab long neck bottle. I really like Anchor Brewing bottles. Or, the heavier Belgian or German bottles. I've found sources for larger Belgian style bottles, but I don't want to have to drink 750 ml of Barley Wine.

Any ideas for sources for these types of bottles?

These are the smaller size a lot of folks like for barleywines.

Mmm... I'm looking forward to bottling a barley wine in the 750's I've been saving.

I don't know. Seven ounces doesn't seem like enough. But that's just me.

Me either. That's why I just leave them in a keg. Fortunately I have plenty of kegs.

The Heineken 7 oz and Becks 8 oz shorties are nice bottles for strong beers and meads. They don't cost much more than a case of empty bottles plus you get to drink the beer! Just try and buy them in closed cases so the beer isn't skunked. Corona has shorty bottles too but the labels are printed on.

Thanks Bugeater! I looked for a long time (hours). I can't believe I didn't think of More Beer or Williams. That was dumb of me.

I think I'm going to post a new thread proposing a trade. Bottles- 7 oz, Belgian 12 oz-ish, or Anchor Brewing for a like new Johnson Analog Temp controller. If someone is interested, great, if now, I'll pick up some of these 7 oz bottles.
