Is there a chart somewhere that shows the max amount of carbonation common bottle types will hold? In a couple weeks I'll be bottling a Saison and am afraid to use the recommended amount of priming sugar.

it totaly depends on the manufacturer. but gererally most brown glass bottles hold 3-4 volumes, champagne bottles hole 6-8 if i remember correctly.

I wouldn't put any more than 3 volumes into any regular bottle. I'm comfortable with 4.5 into the belgian bottles and probably more in the champagne bottles. Any more than 4.5 probably isn't very practical anyway, because it will just gush.
