Hello there. Here, I got a question:



If after fermentation, I rack my beer to a keg, force carbonate it for a week at the desired pressure and temperature, then disconnect the keg from my gas cilinder and leave it in the refrigerator, would that beer of mine be carbonated for how long? Will I be able to drink it after 4-5 months beeing there? Will it be carbonated?

As long as you don't have any leaks, it should remain carbonated.

Once the C02 has reached equalization between the head space and the liquid it will remain in that state until it is removed. This means that once you have the beer carbonated at the level you want and you remove the gas line in to the keg it will remain carbonated. For the co2 to leave the beer it would need additional head space to try and equalize the pressure.

Additonal head space would be created by pouring a beer without having the co2 conntected to the keg. The only other way for the beer to loose preasure is to have a leak in the keg or manually remove the c02 using the pressure relief valve
