Mishaps in Bottle Cleaning

So, I was just soaking a six-pack worth of empty commercial bottles to scrub the labels off with one of those yellow sponges with the abrasive green side. I let them soak for 30 minutes under my hottest tap water, scrubbed the papery mush off, and prepared to drain the sink with the garbage disposal turned on just in case. So, the yellow sponge was still floating around in there with the paper mush, and even though I have this rubber gasket thing with slits cut in it to catch bigger things, the disposal created enough suction that the sponge went on down to meet its fate. HOLE-LEE-SHIT!!!!! When the disposal got ahold of the sponge, then entire counter shook so violently that the clean bottles sitting on it toppled over, and I heard some dishes move around not so gently up in the cabinet... will check that a little later... I'm afraid of what I'll find. After about 5-10 seconds of this, before it dawned on me to shut the fucker off, things went back to normal, and not a trace of the sponge was found down in the gullet of the disposal. Note to self... NEVER STICK ANYTHING IN THERE THAT YOU WANT TO KEEP!!!

And the sickest thing of all is that there is nothing sharp needed at all. It just has these whirring pieces of blunt metal down there to beat the shit out of your food waste (or your sponge in this case).

Luckily, nothing was broken... I am still astounded by the shear destructive power of a simple household appliance. :asshat:

You think throwing your sponge into the garbage disposal is a greener way of getting rid of them?? And how violent do you think it would be if i threw a dead hooker in there? Just askin..
