My keg posts (I think thats the right word) are sticky, making it a PITA to get the connectors on. It is a ball-lock keg. Is this a part that I need to lubricate or does it just need to be cleaned out? Either way, I'd appreciate any hints.

Absolutely. Any and every o-ring needs to be greased. QD - both on the keg posts, and the kettles, pump, water filter - they all need some lube.

I had the same problem until i lubed up the o-rings on the posts. QDs slid on like through a window after a crisco bath.....

I've got a beer out post that leaks when its connected to the beer line. If I disconnect the quick connect, it holds pressure. I figure its got to be either the O-Ring or something weird with the post, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Any ideas?

The post O-rings develop cracks over time and can cause such leaks. I replace mine about once a year whether they need it or not. As mentioned earlier a very light touch of keg lube on the O-ring once in a while helps preserve it.

Also, have you checked the disconnect itself? You should take them apart every now and then and clean them. An amazing amount of crud can build up inside them. They are easy to take apart. Just stick a screwdriver in the slot on top and screw out the top piece. Everything inside with then just drop out. Do pay attention to the order they come out and which end you need to stick back in first.

The disconnect works fine on my other kegs, and I replaced the O-rings when I got the kegs earlier this year. This one keg has always been funny this way. I will try taking apart the connector next time I go through and celan them.

Once I get the beer out (I need to drink more), I'll look closer at the post. I'm wondering if it could be damaged. I lubed it up pretty good when I transferred this last beer in. For now, I just disconenct the beer out line when I'm not using it, and reconnect it when I want a glass.

BE, if the top of the post is slightly dented, it will deform the o-ring, and it will leak - even when new. The reason it's not leaking when you take it off is because the poppet is fine.

I vaguely recall something called "keg lube", but I could not find it online anywhere. What do you use?
