Biofine - bested by it again..

I was just telling you what works for me. I'm sure you could shake it after adding it into the fermentor, but you could risk oxyidation depending on your setup. I work under the assumption that Biofine works like food coloring. Shaking will disperse it more quickly, but everything will change color if I wait a little bit. I also figure that adding it as I cold crash means all the heavy shit will be heading in the right direction (to the bottom of the fermentor) and I'll have to wait a bit anyway.

None of the instructions I have say that it needs to be mixed well. I sanitize a teaspoon for a bit and then pop the airlock off the top of the carboy, pour a tsp on top of the finished beer, put the airlock back in place, and then drop my temp.

After about a week I rack to the keg for any conditioning that may be required, or just carb and drink.

We just used biofine yesterday on our IPA. I will post results and info on how we used it. I hope it works out, filtering our IPA is a pain in the ass

I saw the pic before I read what was right above it. I thought you just pissed a 1.012 for a second there. I was thinking, "Well done, sir, well. done."... which didn't change too much after I realized what I was really looking at.

That's within the normal range... urine can get up to 1.030+

Its typically the high ABV of my urine that concerns the doctor, he wouldn't tell me the SG.

Testing for diabetes used to be by tasting the urine for sweetness. High SG urine may be an indication your body isn't processing sugar correctly, among other things. Random shit has a way of hanging out in my brain...
