If it pours great for every pint after the first one then I am willing to bet you are just chilling down your shanks and purging the beer from the lines. I have the same issue. I just deal with the foam knowing that it will always be better the second time around. So how would you keep the metal chilled, right? You would spend energy the 99.9% of the time you aren't using them to keep them cold just to have a first pint that isn't foamy, but then you have that beer sitting in the line...you could purge lines with CO2 every time you use them.
So, looking at the solutions (chilling your shanks and faucets constantly, purging lines with CO2 every time you are done drawing beer) vs. the consequence, slightly foamy beer first 1/2 pour...I pick "relax, don't worry, have a homebrew"! Lol, you are in good shape man!
