There must have been a lot of cork soakers in South Dakota during the gold rush. The dude in Deadwood was always complaining about them. F-ing cork soakers....

Ok, Sheen, it looks like from your last figure, once you release the pressure on the cork, the top expands, and wont fit through the hole in the bottom, hence trapping your bottle in the corker. You need to be able to force the cork through the hole while its compressed, but allow the bottle to drop so you don't fully insert the cork.

Either find a way to have a bottle support that can drop out of the way, or make the hole larger, so an expanded cork fits through. Then it will become an alignment issue.

Thanks you cork soakers, I got it figured out. Like any new toy, I just had to dick around ( ) to get it. The base is spring-loaded, so after inserting the cork ( ) half way I just have to push the base down so the bottom of the bottle is free and then push the plunger all the way down, which forces the cork all the way through the little hole ( ).

Sometimes, if you stick your cork in crooked, it can be difficult to pull it out. And if your not careful it can even break in half. So make sure when you slide your cork in, your slamming it straight in.

Damn! When have you ever broken your cork in half?!?!?

I've gotten a little friction burn on the cork, when it wasn't soaked enough prior to insertion, but never had it break in half!!!
