Odd pour from my faucet...

I have a 2 handle kegerator. I replaced one faucet a while ago with a Perlick (that is really nice BTW).
The other is the original chrome jobbie.

Lately, I'm have strange random/periodic pour issues with that original chrome one. When I open it, it pours like a straw...meaning beer around the outside of the faucet but air on the middle of the pour...like a perfect tunnel. And of course, when it pours this way, it's ridiculously foamy. The handle is wide open when this happens, I'm not constricting it at all.

Any ideas?

It sounds like you need to take the faucet off, completely disassemble it and clean it good. Soak the parts in some hot PBW or oxiclean solution before scrubbing them with a small brush. You probably have some build up inside that is preventing the valve from opening completely.

I remove the faucets and soak them in pbw on every or every other keg switch. This was definitely wash just a week ago when I tapped this. I'll pull and wash again.

Just pulled it, ran scalding water through it, soaked in pbw for 10 minutes and hooked it back on. Same thing. If I pop it open and closed a couple times, it seems to fix the issue. I'm thinking something in the guts of this is going bad and time to replace it.

Did you disassemble it? I mean unscrew the handle, pull out the pieces inside and give them a good scrubbing. Mold and slime will stick to the valve inside the faucet like you wouldn't believe. If you did disassemble it, try replacing the valve that runs horizontally through the faucet. Sometimes those get damage. All else fails, get another Perlick.

I used to help my father clean faucets for a local liquor store. It's amazing how much of that muck can get in there. Glad you got it worked out.
