Would you be willing to share some of the details for how you finished yours?
I am especially curious how you got the sides to look like grey granite, and love how you made the top cover!!!
Any details appreciated from this very appreciative fellow- kegerator nut.

I started with a pretty conventional 2â€X4†collar similar to many other guys’ units.
Then I added 1â€X6†pine trim over the 2â€X4†and the same trim at the bottom to balance the appearance. I glued the 2X4 with construction adhesive and screwed the 1X6 and 2X4 together. The bottom trim I also used sheet metal screws to attach it to the freezer. I made sure there weren’t any of the coils in the area I screwed.
Then I used sheet metal screws to attach some ½†plywood to the top, and dry-fitted some pre-finished hardwood flooring to the top. With the hardwood flooring on top I measured the total thickness of the top and I cut the pine trim to match. I used sheet metal screws and adhesive for the trim boards on the top and glued the flooring to the plywood with construction adhesive.
The granite finish was very simply the rattle can faux finish from the paint isle from Home Depot. It looks pretty nice. I just taped off the wood and painted the whole thing. A couple of coats of marine finish and the thing was done. The Varnish really set off the top. I used the high gloss stuff and it sealed all of the cracks in the top and made a glass smooth finish.
I just had about thirty people over for a Memorial Day party yesterday and it was a big hit. It is fun to have my beer available for friends in a kegorator that looks as good. It is a great focal point for our back patio area.
