Regulator adjustment screw won't turn

Wed Mar 19, 2008 4:50 pm

I disconnected my regulator to go get my tank filled today. Tonight I reconnect the regulator and the adjustment screw won't turn more than maybe 1/3rd of a turn.

I don't think there is a problem with the diagphram, there is no hissing, the regulator is just stuck at about 14-15 psi. Gas is flowing fine, I connected my beer gun to check and it's putting out CO2 without having the pressure change on the regulator.

Last night I turned it down from 30 psi to 15 psi before I turned off the tank and disconnected. Somehow it seems like the screw got stuck there.

Anyone have any ideas?

is the little secure nut too tight? Occasionally while im rasing my pressure, the little nut will get seizd onto the regulator body and is tough to adjust it. Try loosening the nut?

The nut moves freely.

I thought maybe there was some sort of pressure buildup, so I disconnected the regulator from the tank, and still it's the same problem the screw won't turn.

Maybe it ended up crossing the thread somehow and it's done

I just grabbed a wrench and laid into that screw like I was Shat's crazy bitch on ecstasy .. it moved, because the whole black plastic face plate started to unscrew from the metal housing

I think it's fucked .. at least I got it down to 5-6 psi so I can get through some bottling this weekend.
