Invest in Perlick Pearls... its essentially the only draught tech that I always highly recommend that isn't Micromatic.
The older Perlick forward sealing faucets are also the tits as well, but the new redesigned Pearls are ridiculous.
Also, be sure you aren't cranking down really hard on the tap handle nut. On many faucets this is the nut that compresses the gaskets (Teflon or otherwise) in the mechanics of the handle. On many many draught systems, upon taking apart 'regular' faucets, I see these cranked down way too hard, causing ripping of the gaskets, and in general increasing wear and tear on the faucet, as well as causing them to freeze up easily.
A small amount of keg lube may work... but I would think if there was any residual - it would affect your foam/head retention more than anything.
