Another new to kegging question

Hello everyone.

I just kegged my last batch of beer which is also my first kegged beer. I have some basic questions to ask you guys if you can help me out. What is the "ideal" temp that the fridge should be set at. I am planning on just setting my psi to something based on a few carbonation charts I have found. I have a double IPA and and American amber. Only one regulator, so they both have to be the same psi. I am thinking setting the fridge at 45F with 9 psi to get 2 vol of CO2. Does that sound reasonable? How do you guys do it? Does anyone know of a good chart for serving temps for beer, along with ideal carbonation levels?

Unless you're serving FROST BREWED beer ;), high 40's to low 50's is perfect serving temp. It's also something that it's impossible to permanently fuck up. If you find the temp or carbonation is not to your taste, just turn a knob and wait a bit and you're golden.

2 volumes is too low for both of those styles. You want to be around 2.3-2.6 volumes for those style.
Don't forget also that the beer will warm up once it hits your room temp glass (NEVER use a chilled glass). I have found that around 40F/11psi is a good temp/pressure combo to set the kegerator, and it will serve medium carbonation and the beers will warm up over time from the mid to the high 40's while you are drinking it. (Unless you are chugging, then set it to 31F).
