keg-to-keg transerring of overcarbed beer

oops, I overshot my krausening calculations and have a Quad that is WAY overcarbed. It even foams out when I try to vent through the top vent. How can I transfer this to another keg and hopefully drop the pressure? Will I need an extra-long hose? Smaller diameter hose? Near-freezing temps?

Get it as cold as you can....make a jumper, beverage out to beverage out......pull the pressure relief valve on the receiving keg, and it should start flowing....with the pressure you are describing, it should flow freely to the receiving keg, and gravity should do the rest.

Make 2 jumpers, one gas-to-gas and the other beer-to-beer. Use your keg pressure tester to find out what the pressure is in the full keg. Pressurize your empty keg to a lb or two less than the full keg. Put the full keg on a table and the empty one on the floor. Connect the beer jumper and see that it fills with beer. connect the gas jumper and watch your beer gently siphon from the keg on the table to the one on the floor with no foaming at all.

If you are trying to degas, you might want to only run half of the keg over so you have 2 half full kegs. Should make it easier to release pressure without getting foam out the pressure relief.

um, I thought that putting the Empty keg on the table would work better, but this seems to make good sense, Thanks to you both!!!
btw the keg is WAY over pressurized, and seems to have a little more yeast in the bottom than usual. I think the krausen and fresh yeast addition really just started a new full re-fermentation of whatever was left, knocking a few more points off the FG that I didn't count for.
