Natural carbing in a Keg

Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:25 pm

I have a Co2 tank, but haven't found a place to get it filled yet, so ya, Looking to prime carb in a keg and bottle maybe a 12 pack from it. Any opinions about best way to go about it? I figure just prime with sugar as normal, and bottle from the keg as if it's a bottling bucket after transfer.

I do have a Dispenser Co2 that uses 12 and 16 gram cartridges.

use half the amount of sugar that you would normally bulk prime with and the keg will be fine. make sure you seal it well.

As mentioned above bulk priming you only need 1/2 the sugar. However if you plan on bottling some of the beer you need to put the normal amount of sugar and bottle. Your keg might get a little overcarbonated but you can just vent some pressure off of it.
