Dosing bottles

Does any one know of chart I could use to dose bottles individually?... I'm gonna start bottling strait from the fermenter with a racking cane and wand...

Also could I just pour the priming syrup in the fermenter?

You could calculate based on how much sugar you need to add to 5 gal, scaled down to 12 or 22oz bottles to figure how much you need to dose. Any reason why you are doing it straight from the fermentor? If you pour syrup in fermentor, you'd need to mix it in well, which would tend to kick up your yeast as well.

The Coopers drops might be your best way to go if you insist on bottling straight from the fermenter. It will be difficult to accurately measure out the small amount for an individual bottle otherwise.

Sounds like a plan... The reasoning behind it is.. I just bought a cheap auto siphon holder and on the packaging they had it set up like I described above... Just seems like a time saver bc on bottling day it's usually me and my two year old.. If she's not getting into something on the other side of the house, she's grabbing caps and or bottles!! I used to tell her everything I was working on was "Hot! Hot!" but she doesn't fall for that anymore :) you ever had any luck with the tablets? I've never used them...

Sorry, I don't have a two year old so I've never used them, but heard good things about them from other brewers. Someone with experience will likely chime in shortly.

I have used the Munton's Carb Tabs before, but didn't think of them when I responded earlier.

They weren't my favorite, seemed like they took a long while to dissolve. However, they did the job, and there were issues with that beer (JZ's dry stout, bottled before all the fine bits settled out completely) that may have prevented them from working as well as they should. It is a lot of handling, I wore gloves when dispensing, my funnel wasn't big enough for them to slip down into the bottles. If you are constrained in how you can bottle, they are worth the try.
