The caustic products (BLC, Micromatic's alkali cleaner etc.) take care of half the job - i.e. get protein, old yeast cells etc. loosened up and out of the lines. The other half is beer stone. This is attacked with a mix of nitric and phosphoric or just phosphoric acids (e.g. Micromatic Acid Line Cleaner). This does not have to be used each time caustic is used - perhaps every third or fourth time.

I would not add bleach to a keg. Bleach will eventually cause pitting in your kegs.

I use BLC like others have posted.

I believe in mixing it up. Sometimes, I'd use BLC. Other times, I'd pump PBW and Starsan/Saniclean. Still others, I'd use all 3, since they complement each other (StarSan is acidic, BLC and PBW are alkaline).

If you guys have come across http://www.beerwestmag.com/ there is a great article about line cleaning and the associated problems if not cleaned regularly and properly.
