Sour beer bottling from keg

Thu Jan 20, 2011 11:19 am

So.............I kegged two sours and realized that was stupid. I really need the keg space for upcoming competitions. So how do I bottle them? I have a beer gun but because of the the rubber end I don't want to use it for sour beers. Anyone have a idea of how to bottle the beers and keep their carbonation without using the beer gun?

I came across this video yesterday. May be a reasonable solution.
Me: I'm gonna drink a Boon Geuze.
SWMBO: You're a booze goon.

I ONLY keg my beers and since I brew many sour beers have spent the extra money (not much) and bought a new rubber tip, liquid disconnect and tubing strictly for my sour beers so to be sanitary with my beer gun use. If you wanted to bottle just for a competition that is relatively soon then you could use the Tasty McDole method.

You could also purge the beer of CO2 over a few days and rack out of the keg into a bottling bucket as well. More work, but at least you know the beer is packaged.
