Sanyo Fridge freezing up?

Sun Sep 05, 2010 5:26 am

I have a relatively new Sanyo 4912 that I converted to handle 2 corny's and installed into my bar. So I have a hole cut in the top for the draft stand. Also a small hole in the side to keep the CO2 external. both holes (except for the tubing) are closed up using insulated aluminum tape. Seals on the front door seem good.

For the past couple months, that entire back plate is freezing up and it doesn't maintain temp.
I cannot get it below 49 degrees in there and anymore, that entire back cooling plate is a 2" thick block of ice.

I've defrosted it a couple times and it just ices right back up.

Any thoughts?

My guess is that the kegs are filling the fridge and stopping the cold air from moving to the different parts of the fridge. Some people have used computer fans to circulate the air in their keg fridges to help with this.

I have something like this already. I have a radio shack project box with a comp fan in it and a hose out the other end that feeds into my draft tower. Keeps cold air in the tower. So while I don't have fan just blowing air around the fridge, there is some air movement in here.
