Dispensing from a Scottie

Wed Feb 03, 2010 6:39 am

I am in the process of putting together my portable kegerator (Doc style). I have a 3 gal Scotty and a mini CO2 regulator. My question is how long should the line be from the out post to the faucet?

Should be the same as a regular keg. Depends on your dispense pressure and hose diameter.

Here's a BYO article on it: http://www.byo.com/stories/techniques/a ... ed-brewing

+1. I get a good pour speed with 6' of line and 8-10 psi. If the beer is packed with ice it will be quite cold (32-34°) and your regulator can be set fairly low without losing CO2. I haven't had problems going longer than the recommended line length from the draft balancing calculators, typically 6-7' for 10 psi.
