From Keg to Can?

Thu Nov 19, 2009 7:28 pm

I read in an Oskar Blues interview that when they first started, they rolled their kegs over from the brewery and filled their cans. I'm pretty sure they used a manual 1-2 head cask filler. Does anyone know how this set-up works? Is it just a tapped keg hooked up to the head filler?

I always assumed these cans were filled off of a serving tank.

Sounds like it to me. Musta been a logistic of space.

In other can news, when Sully started out he couldn't afford a head filler that would fill his head, so he filled each one (lovingly) off of the racking port.
