I had the same thing happen to a couple of New Belgium bottles when I bottled up a wit a few weeks ago. I lost two bottles of beer and got a nice cut on the side of my hand. I just figured the problem was that they use the recycled hippie glass. I have a bench top capper as well and didn't even think about using that.

yup I busted a Captain Lawrence bottle the same way, looks like its the exact same bottle type.
