CO2 Injector for extended serving?

Tue May 05, 2009 8:11 pm

So i've used those CO2/Trigger injectors for serving kegs over the course of one night for parties and such but never over a few days.

I am getting ready for a family vacation and I am bringing a keg to be shared between 4 or 5 people. I hoping the keg will last the week or at least 4 or 5 days, but just realized the only portable CO2 I got is one of those injectors.

Does anyone see a problem with using one for that long of a time period?

My concern is what will happen to my carbonation. I am guessing if I hit the keg with a good blast at the end of the night to pressurize the headspace I should be Okay, but I am looking for some feedback...

You should be fine. Those small CO2 cartridges are just like a miniature tank without a regulator. Your carbonation will go up and down but not too much. Just try and guess the pressure and you should be fine.

Cool. Thanks for the help. I figured I'd be okay.
