Question about Sanke Keg Parts

Tue Apr 14, 2009 5:57 pm

Hello everyone. My friends and I just started brewing this year and up until now we have just been bottling everything that we brew but we have decided to move onto using kegs. Now here is my dilemma.

Since my father makes his own wine, I have like probably 7 Sanke kegs at home which he has thankfully given me one. I was going to buy a corny keg before this happened but now that I have that nice big keg I would like to use it. Only problem is that it doesn't have the Spear. I found a place online that sells the Spear and its an American style D style spear but it doesn't with the Lock Ring and I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can any of you help me on where I can find a lock ring? I don't want to let this keg go to waste if I can use it.

Thanks in advance very much for any help or advice you guys can give me. I am just a newbie who's very fond of beer and the process or making it as well trying to get started in the game! :aaron

Here's a ring that is easier to remove and replace

Mind you, I haven't tried it. I just saved the link in case I ever needed one.
