Does CO2 pressure need to increase w/ multiple kegs??

Sun Apr 19, 2009 1:07 pm

If I'm going to hook up multiple kegs ( 4 Corneys) to a 4 way manifold would I have to increase the pressure at the regulator ? and what would be a good general setting, I realize different beers are served at different psi but if I wanted to use 1 regulator for now, 4 kegs general all around good setting? Thanks

I have 4 kegs on tap. I've been running my setup at 10-11 psi @ 39° for the past 5 years. Didn't change a thing going from 2 kegs to 4 kegs. Once I got it dialed in when I first set it up, I don't think I have changed the pressure once.

Does it take any longer to carb with 4 kegs on?

What does your 10 psi give you? 2.5?

Think of the gas lines like they are a funny shaped balloon. The gas will expand to fit them all no matter what shape they are in. Likewise, the gas flows everhwere inside of the baloon so that eventually pressure evens out equally everywhere along the way. Eventually (like in less than a few seconds) that every keg (and the pessure gauge) shares the same pressure. Set it to 11 and it's 11 everywhere.
