priming sugar in keg

Mon Apr 13, 2009 4:40 pm

I've got two beers in the fermenter and maybe enough gas for dispensing, but probably not enough to carb and serve so I was gonna prime the kegs with sugar and save the gas to serve. I know this is covered someplace but I can't find it, how much sugar do I use to prime in kegs? They're an American IPA and Imperial ESB. I can't refill the tank because we might be moving soon. I think I heard your suppost to use less sugar to prime in kegs.

I have used the same amount of sugar that I bottle with and have had no problem with that. But then I always bottle afew just to have on the side...

You can always adjust the pressure in the keg with the gas, or releasing the gas if it seems to be over carbonated.
