Disconnects in the C02 line?

Wed Feb 18, 2009 10:14 am

Question for the masses. Can you hook up a disconnect system in the C02 line?

The problem I have is the keg fridge lives inside, and the brewery is outside. At the moment the C02 tank is inside the fridge, but I am planning on moving it outside the fridge to make room for more kegs. That will mean passing the C02 lines through a hole in the side. All good. But not so good for when I need the C02 tank outside in the brewery. Is it possible to hook up a disconnect to the C02 line going to the fridge so I can quickly and easily unhook the tank and take it outside? Would I need a special type of disconnect for this type of thing?

Thanks
Zac

Try this: http://morebeer.com/view_product/17589/ ... _QD_Female
and a couple of these: http://morebeer.com/view_product/17590/ ... as_QD_Male

There is also a gas bulkhead fitting that you can mount on your kegerator that you can hook a ball lock connector to, but I can find that one at the moment.

+1

They work great. I've got a line run from outside in to the keggerator, running to the kegs. I've got a second short length of tubing with a gas in connector. I can disconnect from the fridge, connect the short length, and take the gas anywhere. I use that all the time, cleaning, transferring, etc. The disconnects work great-

Thanks guys. I'll try and find something locally. Failing that I'll get one shipped down via MoreBeer.
