+1 to everything in this thread. No solder. No obsessive cleaning. I never clean mine, so long as it dries out between uses.

Here's mine. Basically followed info from How to Brew except I made exit from center of manifold. Also used flare fitting for easy removal.

I've got over 25 batches on this set of copper. Only the end pieces are soldered together, so it breaks down easily for cleaning. I added a few tabs to the copper to keep it centered and "locked" in the cooler during stirring.

The cooler is a bit warped and starting to get stained but works flawlessly.

My experience with improved efficiency (from 68% to 78%) came from a better crush and adjusting my water chemistry. The manifold hasn't changed at all.
