Just wanted to say I tried this but was hamstrung by the availability of ingredients. Had to use CaraAroma instead of Special B in about 1/3 to 2/3rds proportions.
The colour came out a bit browner than I'd hoped but had a great flavour. I also used Maris Otter so had a great biscuity, malty taste upfront that blended into bitterness before finishing with a kind of burnt caramel finish.
I'm not sure if that is true to the style of the original beer, and havent had the opportunity of trying Stone, but thought I'd give it a try based on how popular Stone's ABA seems to be. So even if my beer is not true to form, its a surefire hit with the friends.
I think I'll try this again but aim more for accurate ingredients next time.

Thanks for the insight, though. Glad you brewed something that was not at all like the original????

I brewed this beer recently (with the actual recipe......). I messed it up and under-shot my gravity by five points. All-in-all, it is definitely VERY similar to the original. I don't know if the five points would have made enough of a difference, but I'm calling the beer I made Arrogant Bastard Light. Note that I used WLP007 as suggested. Great yeast.
