The gravity I'm going for is 1.070, not low but not too high either.

Thanks for the suggestions folks! I'll let you know what I decide to use soon. :drink

Out of stock! Curses!

Only at the new store that just opened up. In stock in the California stores.

BTW, I'm not suggesting you should or shouldn't use this strain, just commenting on availability. Not that you'd need a ton of Rouge beers to grow your own sample - all it takes is 1 cell, patience, OCD & a bit of time.

the mangrove jack dry northwest ale strain is supposedly the rogue pacman yeast. you could give that a shot. or you could also try WY 1469 which is a fantastic attenuative yeast strain.

I'm teetering between WLP002 and WLP013 now folks, but I will let you know when I decide which is gonna be on Saturday, that's where we're having the homebrew club meeting at the local homebrew supply shop and they're giving 10% discount for club members.

You guys are super :jnj

Big fan of the 007. Good floc, good attenuation and it works over a pretty big temp range. Low ester as well.

With a 1.070 beer, I'd go with the WLP007/WYeast 1098 strain.
(Personally, I favor the 007 a little more over the 1098. They seem to have diverged a little bit, and the 007 tends to come out a little cleaner. At least in my experience.

I went with London Ale WLP013! I forgot to tell you guys, weekend was kinda busy and while I was heating the strike water yesterday my cat mauled my friends dog and we had to take it to the VET ER, it wouldn't stop bleeding.

But the stout got brewed anyways, I finished at 7pm but started at 8am. Stuff happens though.
