specialty grains

Straight forward question.I don't have a grain mill and I have my LHBS do it for me. How long can I keep them in a cool place once they are cracked? I assume they lose flavour like coffee does? Thanx in advance

You should be fine with 2-3 months. That's what I have done in the past with no ill effects (as far as I can tell).

I made some pretty neat wevils in crushed grains once (stored in a dry, dark place in about 6 weeks. Creatures were flying out of there when I opened it (NOT airtight).
