transferring to secondary before primary is 100% complete

I have an IPA going and it will be 1 week in primary tomorrow. The airlock still bubbles about once every 5 seconds. I was wondering if there are negative effects from transferring a ferm with activity to the secondary where I plan on dry hopping. Will doing so stop the ferm and make the FG too high? I haven't checked the FG yet so I just assume the activity says it's not done yet. Thanx in advance.

There should not be any harm to this as the yeast you need is still in suspension and will be racked with the beer.

Don't rack... leave it be. My last IPA went 14 days in "primary".

I agree. I stopped doing a secondary after i heard jamil say it was unnecessary and the beer still comes out just fine and its less work.
