The Can You Brew It crew attempts to brew their first craft beer from New Zealand. After travelling in Australia and New Zealand, Jamil returns with a fond memory of the best pale ale he had on his journey, and a fine example of the style in general. Tune in and see if the crew was able to recreate this wonderful pale ale.

Mash temps by Chris, September 02, 2010
In the interview the brewer says he does a protein rest @ 55 deg C (131F) and then mashes @ 68.5 deg C (155F) but then later in the show when Jamil gives the recipe he says to do a 148 deg F mash. Is my hearing F'ed or what?

Jamil is Human... WTF.... by ClassicAles, December 25, 2011
Yep... Jamil is human and as such is prone to making mistakes... duh... Just listen to the brewer and you'll get it right... I've brewed this beer and it's WONDERFULL!!! YOU CAN'T MISS!!! Also, I have a new theory about hope based on this and other brewcasts. 10% of bittering at start, 20 qt 20% into, 30 at 30% into, etc. and you'll figure it out...... :-)
Have fun on this one and ask Jason says... "drink"!!!

This Beer Rocks!!! by ClassicAles, January 21, 2012
Yo all you homebrewers!!!
I've been brewing most of the CYBI beers for the last couple of years now and THIS BEER ROCKS!!! The taste is definately "West Coast", and the balance is right on, so if you love a Very Good American IPA, like Gotti sez, "You gotta try this one!". So what if it takes a half pound of Cascades to brew a 5 gal. batch! The payoff is worth it! Just do it! You won't look back, and you'll be brewing another batch of this.... 'Nuff Said!
Cheers!!!
