Hello from Bloomington, Indiana

I've been listening to the archives and just discovered the forums (fora?). Still an extract brewer, full boil, and I bottle. I guess I'm 1 step ahead of a newb. Newb+1?

If there are any other Hoosiers about, wtf is Sampson doing?

Welcome to the insanity. I did grow up Indiana, but I wouldn't call myself a Hoosier. I went to Purdue University ('nuf said).

I also am limited to extract on the stove (partial boil), but as soon as the weather starts warming I'm headed outside with my new mash tun and going all grain.

Cheers!

Thank you all! I've got an SNPA clone in bottles, a Kolsch in the secondary and a fat tire-like amber in the primary. Next up, little bro (a Purdue senior, and big hop head) and myself will make a Graduation IIPA - prob. the last IPA I make for some time - for our graduation in May (me from law school, him from PU[ke]).

I just did the FT yesterday, and pitched a two-step starter with the Wyeast 1792 special New Belgium release -- had about a 7 hour lag before it started destroying the wort. I've very pumped about that. :D

I got a SS turkey fryer set, with a 36 quart pot for x-mas and I've been brewing up a storm. The primary has been empty for just one week (had to stagger a bit to not produce too much beer for the bottles I have). It sure beats the stove.

And I just finished listening to the BN Awards show -- Congrats Bub!
