Avatar Help

I would like to use the "avator" feature, but can't seem to make it work. I have a photo posted on "Photobucket.com" that I would like to use, and can make the appropriate size thumbnail from, but it won't take it in my profile. Any suggestions? Maybe I need permissions??

You should be able to just plug in the URL. Make sure you don't use the BBCode tags, just use the url.
for example:
In my Link to Offsite Avatar box, I put

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/ ... /foamy.gif

Does it have to be a link or can we upload our own like is done on most php sites?

Looks to me like it'd have to be a link. The only options I see are Link to External Avatar or pick one from the gallery. And, since there aren't any avatars in the gallery, that doesn't seem to be a very useful option

I have no idea how to do the avatar thing. I don't have any pic sites to get it from, so how do I use my own pic from my pc?

it has to be hosted on an external website.
If you send them to me (pm me for the email address) I will host them on my website. (NOTE SHAMELESS PLUG - or you could buy a website from me for $10 per year domain name not included) You need to do all the editing and whatnot but I will host them until I tire of you, or till it starts getting too much.
