Do they call it a corona mill because they use it to make corona? Haha! As cheap as I am I may wait and get a roller mill. I've been studying the situation and that seems to be the thing. I'm going to hit Milt up to buy it since I bought all the brewing gear he should buy the grain mill.

That makes a little bit of sense. Strange coming from Mort. Did the field guy call you today? That sounds like a great option and I know we can drill barley seed. I remember dad grew feed barley one or two years when we were kids. I seem to remember he fed most of it to the milk cows. It must not have made good enough to sell. Maybe our growing season is too short.

Remember to plant 2 row barley not 6 row...
Most barley used for brewing... correction home and craft brewing... is 2 row barley... most barley used for feed is 6 row cause it has more protien.
You will probably need to get a specific variety if you are gonna use it for trade, if you want to try and malt it yourself you can get any old 2 row.

Mort... Call them first, a lot of times smaller stores won't stock 50# bags of grain, but they will order them for the next truck they have comming in. Although it wouldn't hurt to go there a couple of times to make sure you didn't forget anything :D

So me and the Mrs drove over to Minot and made a grocery run out of it and hit the brew shop. Bub you are right they have to order the bags but I was able to get an all grain kit for an American ale. It was a different kind of yeast than I had used but I will be OK. So I will be brewing tomorrow despite the cold.

American Ale...What's the grain bill?

Retirement out? Having nothing to do but brew all day...That's exactly my idea of retirement. :D
