Left yeast vial in car over night

Wed May 11, 2011 9:29 am

I left my yeast vial in the car for about 18 hours. I should just throw it out right?

What was the temp in the car? You're probably fine.

you should be fine, just ensure that you build a starter for two reasons.

1) this will tell you if the yeast is viable, you will see the wort ferementing.
2) It will strengthen and rebuild the yeast count lost in the heat.
