Re: For all the BNers, especially in central OH

Thanks man, that's what I was going for! Drinking stout takes forethought and planning. Which is a pain if you are somewhere that doesn't like to serve you multiple drinks at once. If you are at a place with bartenders that will bring multiple drinks before the end of happy hour, it's good to get ones that are better a bit warmer.

Once again, nicely done.
The topic of barley is a pretty tough sell to non-brewers. The process of mashing seems to be some crazy scientific hullabaloo. I just explain it as soaking the grains at a certain temp, for a certain time, and I can see their eyes begin to glaze over.
This explains the idea in short enough terms with out being long winded.
Very cool. I look forward to future installments.

Thanks man. I do get a fair amount of practice explaining things at work (LHBS) to people that are new to the brewing world. Glad you've enjoyed them so far!

Good stuff - you've got another regular reader. Which LHBS?

I haven't been to Gentile's in quite a while. I'll have to stop by next time I'm in that 'hood.

Latest post, about the proposed amendment in Ohio to increase the definition of beer to 18% ABV (it's currently at 12%)
